Combat Ring

Attack when your creature beats the defender in the food-chain ring. A failed attack destroys the attacker. Equal creatures join the Stonebound as neutral walls.

Loop logic: Cat catches mouse, Dog chases cat, Wolf outmatches dog, Bear mauls wolf, Elephant crushes bear, and the tiny Mouse scares the Elephant to complete the loop.

Rules & design decisions

1Each side starts with eight d6 creature pieces on opposite edges of the board.
2On your turn, select one creature die and move one square in any direction, or attack an adjacent enemy.
3Equal-creature clashes petrify both dice into dark neutral stone blocks. Stones block movement, attacks, paths, and mystery spawns.
4Every third action creates a new ? on a different empty square. Existing ? tokens stay until claimed and never stack, spawn on units, stones, or voids.
5Every eighth action opens a spinning void circle on a random non-void square. It destroys whatever is there and kills any die that enters it.
6Win by eliminating all enemy dice. In Single Player, the CPU moves after you. In Local Pass & Play, turns alternate between players.

Best played in landscape or on a larger screen. The board scrolls horizontally on narrow displays.
